Research Shows Bee Venom Can Destroy HIV Cells

    Hi BloomBlog readers,

Besides the health benefits of raw honey, another fascinating area is apitherapy - the medical use of bee venom, propolis, royal jelly, and pollen.

Now, let me state unequivocally that we make no medical claims or guarantees, just passing along headlines in the news... but check this one out:

This recent US News article shows that a compound in bee venom, mellittin, can destroy HIV cells while not damaging other healthy cells.

Let's hope these results lead to groundbreaking products or treatments.

Bees are truly incredible creatures. I learn more all the time and I never cease to be amazed by what I learn - about honey, apitherapy, the social activity of honeybees.

So as long as you are not allergic to a bee sting, the next time you feel the pain of a honeybee sting, welcome it as a complimentary apitherapy treatment!

75%+ of store bought honey doesn't contain pollen

    Hi BloomBlog readers,
Professor Vaughn Bryant, the Pollen Detective, studies honey samples and finds that more than 75 percent of honey sold in the U.S. has had its pollen completely filtered out.
At Bloom Honey, our honey is never pasteurized or filtered. We extract varietal honey straight from the beehive and deliver it to you the way our honeybees created it - 100% raw and pure.  It's that simple.
So what do we do? We gently heat it just enough to facilitate bottling, but never near the temperature that will degrade its nutritional quality or its healthy bioavailable enzymes. We gently strain it to remove large impurities such as wax particles, bee parts, or parts of wood colony frames that splinter off during extraction. We allow the pollen grains and nutrients to pass through to you intact.
At Bloom Honey, we believe that raw honey offers a myriad of health sustaining and medicinal properties and we make sure we protect that nutritional integrity. Our Honey, Your Health!

Honey Illegally Imported from China Contaminated≈

    Hi BloomBlog readers,

This is a fascinating article on honey that is illegally imported from China.

Take it from me, if you don't know your beekeeper, you do not know your honey! My recommendation - only buy pure raw honey made in the United States.

Bloom Honey is a member of True Source Certified, an organization whose members certify 100% of their honey is produced in the United States. We are a member of California State Beekeepers Association, the American Bee Federation, and the American Honey Producer’s Association. We also donate a portion of every bottle we sell to Project Apis m, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustaining the health of honeybees and researching Colony Collapse Disorder.
