Research Shows Bee Venom Can Destroy HIV Cells

Hi BloomBlog readers,

Besides the health benefits of raw honey, another fascinating area is apitherapy - the medical use of bee venom, propolis, royal jelly, and pollen.

Now, let me state unequivocally that we make no medical claims or guarantees, just passing along headlines in the news... but check this one out:

This recent US News article shows that a compound in bee venom, mellittin, can destroy HIV cells while not damaging other healthy cells.

Let's hope these results lead to groundbreaking products or treatments.

Bees are truly incredible creatures. I learn more all the time and I never cease to be amazed by what I learn - about honey, apitherapy, the social activity of honeybees.

So as long as you are not allergic to a bee sting, the next time you feel the pain of a honeybee sting, welcome it as a complimentary apitherapy treatment!
